Hans van Bentem makes monumental sculptures, like icons of our modern days, for this he uses precious materials and traditional crafts, the antiques of the future. For the production he visits places in the world where ancient crafts still survived. Like a quest for endangered species he searches the globe for possible materials, skills and inspirations. This resulted so far in Porcelain from China, Wood from Senegal, Bronze from India, Copper from Morocco, Crystal from Czech Republic & Earthenware from the Netherlands… This is also where the paths of Hans van Bentem & pols potten have met many times & where their fruitful collaborations were born...
