Andreas Kowalewski is a designer, born in Berlin and based in Amsterdam. After finishing his cabinetmaker apprenticeship, he studied at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen (Germany) and graduated in 2006 with master ’s degree in industrial design. Ever since, he has developed products, furniture and lighting for some of the leading companies in the design field such as Ligne Roset, Normann Copenhagen, Caussa, Audi, Philips Design, and Miyazaki. His work has won several prestigious design awards and has been shown in numerous exhibitions. Andreas founded his studio in 2012 in Amsterdam, where he is working on projects which cover the overall spectrum of the design process. Andreas’ work is strongly influenced by his passion for experimenting with materials, construction principles and innovative technologies. He commits his work to create useful design solutions which have meaning, reduce complexity and with a well-balanced form language. It is his ambition to create new alternatives which add value and inspire the imagination of people.
