Sezgin Aksu was born in 1970 in Turkey. He studied in the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart (Germany), Les Ateliers, Paris (France) and with Silvia Suardi in Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and Seviglia (Spain).
The designer started his professional life in the Studio of Michele De Lucchi and worked there for nearly 10 years. In 2001, together with Silvia Suardi, they founded the AKSU/SUARDI Studio in Milan and started working on interior design projects for private houses and public spaces, exhibition design, industrial/furniture and graphic design.
Their principle clients include:
Antonangeli, Caimi Brevetti, Crédit Agricole Asset Management (CAAM), Eurizon Capital Sgr Spa, eDePadova, Koleksiyon, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Nemo-Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Olivetti, Rubinetterie Teorema, Slide, Serafino Zani. They won the Red Dot Design Award in 2007, Design Turkey 2008, Good Design USA 2008 and Adi Design Index 2003 (Battista, Koala - Caimi brevetti), 2009 (Kaleidos – Caimi brevetti), Italy.
Sezgin Aksu also lectures at the Istituto Europeo del Design (IED), the Nuova Accademia delle Belle Arti (NABA) and the Istituto Superiore di Architettura e Design (ISAD).
Silvia Suardi was born in 1967 in Italy. She completed her University education in Italy and Spain at the Universities of Politecnico di Milano and Seviglia.
Suardi began her career in the Studio of Michele De Lucchi and worked there for approximately 10 years. In 2001, together with Sezgin Aksu she founded the AKSU/SUARDI Studio in Milan which works in a variety of areas from interior design projects for private houses and public spaces to exhibition designs to industrial/ furniture and graphic design.
The Studio's clients include;
Antonangeli, Caimi Brevetti, Credit Agricole Asset Management (CAAM), Eurizon Capital Sgr Spa, eDePadova, Koleksiyon, Gebrüder Thonet Vienna, Nemo-Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Olivetti, Rubinetterie Teorema, Slide and Serafino Zani. The AKSU/SUARDI Studio received many awards such as the Red Dot Design Award (2007), Design Turkey (2008), Adi Design Index (2003) and Kaleidos – Caimi brevetti (2009).
Suardi, who works with many international magazines, has published two books entitled , "Michele De Lucchi: Dopotolomeo" (Skira) and "Marco della Torre. Il progetto per l'arte", (Logos).
