Although Citterio is Italian and Löw is German, together they have developed a number of modernist designs for Iittala that are Scandinavian in inspiration. Citterio has won many prizes including the prestigious Compasso d’Oro in 1987 and 1995. Löw has also received numerous awards and was appointed Professor of Industrial Design in Hamburg in 2000. Both designers have the honour of some of their designs being on permanent exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
