The name Pistillo comes from the female reproductive organ of flowers. The attraction of the design and styling are particularly evident in the chrome plated body and the arms that embrace the central lamp. Designed by Studio Tetrarch in 1970, this luminaire has continued to exert its original appeal right through to the 21st century. Pistillo is a creatively styled and wholly contemporary luminaire that adapts perfectly to all types of settings.
"It was born as an attempt to interpret the chandelier of Murano glassmakers in a modern way. The attempt fails both for the refusal of the Muranese workers to assimilate new productive technologies and for the "arrogant" ability that plastic seems to have, in that particular moment (1969) to face and solve every problem substituting and replacing any other material.
