Steel and wood don’t often evoke the feeling of lightness, but with their IBSEN series, new Rome-based design label GREYGE has transformed the materials into chairs poised between weightlessness and motion. The IBSEN One is supported by two powder-coated steel tubes whose angles and curves cast different postures from every perspective, a graceful interplay of forms that evoke lighthearted playfulness. The curved lacquered wood back and seat work in tandem with the structure to create visual harmony, highlighted in a series of colours that emanate warmth and comfort. Like its namesake, the IBSEN questions assumptions, taking on a role as a solid yet delicate mastery of two robust materials.
