The discrepancy between the lightness and dynamism of form on the one hand and the solid durability of the material on the other makes the Sponeck chair an object of special aesthetic qualities over and above its function as a piece of furniture.

Two panels Swisspearl® curved towards each other form a static system on the basis of their connection. The mono-materiality as a form of construction doing justice to the material used ensures that the Sponeck chair is a designer object of unusual stylistic consistency.

Felt, which in terms of its aesthetic material qualities is very similar to cement composite, may be added as an additional layer where required.

Career / education
Born in 1971, Julia von Sponeck studied architecture and design at the Stuttgart Art Academy as well as the University of North London from 1992 to 2000. She worked for internationally renowned firms in London and Berlin as architect and designer for several years. She has lived and worked in Paris since 2005. She currently works for Hermes International as an architect.
